7:05am. We are sailing out of Sandy Island, jib only. Very light winds. Our sail here from Carriacou, was very hot hot HOT! The current was really strong between the two islands. The water got really funky, looked like confused rivers trying to find the way out. We had no wind as we approached Grenada heading down the East side of the island the ocean was like a lake! Needless to say we motored most of the way.
3:20pm. We are anchored in Hartman Bay! As hurricane Issac is making its way out of the Caribbean, the next couple of days we hibernate. So tired! 2,900 nautical miles later and 176 days since we left the United States, what an awesome journey!
We have reached our goal for hurricane season. A little late in the date than we originally had planned. Had a few bumps in the road with repairs and health, but nothing stopped us from enjoying and overcoming the challenges that we faced. We had tons of fun along the way learning lots, and experiencing different cultures and countries. We plan to stay put for a little while on this island and catch up on boat projects. This ends one chapter on a series of more adventures to come. I have updated the blog with some of our adventures and lots of pics, Enjoy family and friends!
