Glowing waters, Isla Matei
As the sun is rising we get up, its just after 6am. Anchors up we set sail 6:20am. By 7am we are officially sailing the Caribbean! We anchor in Isla Matei. The holding was not great, but after searching a little more we found a great spot, with a great view! We prepare the dinghy and set out to explore! We go into the cove and find some inlets that lead into a jungle like safari. Excellent safari! We eat some lunch in this hidden inlet floating, taking in the scenery. Its getting really hot out so we head for the beach to hang out before the real exploring begins….
8pm. We are in a area that is known for the glowing waters at night. This is why we choose to stop here to see what its all about. We pick up our friends from “Inspiration” to join us for the adventure. We go into the cove we had explored earlier, and with a fresh map in our head we navigate the cove in darkness, no problem. As we are motoring I notice that our propeller is giving off a glowing light in the water! We stop and play with the water and it lights up as you touch it. We go in a little further in one of the inlets. And it gets better. As the fish swim away from the boat they create a glowing line of their heading. They are like fireworks! So cool! Ryan goes in circles making our dinghy guests dizzy~ and creating a neon O! Awesome …we should have good dreams tonight
