Its midnight now and I am on my 10-2am shift. The hubby sleeps outside and I hear him and Beau take turns snoring away. We are just passing Samana, right above Punta Gorda and Punta Nibson. Making great progress considering the wind. The wind is calm @ 8kts and we are averaging 4-5 kts in speed. Great course. All is well, really quiet sailing, full moon out, just serene. We are just about to enter the Mona Passage. I see 2 ships….big ships in the distance coming up fast. I go back to sailing now…..focus….
Its noon. And its very calm out. We sail, then motorsail, then sail. For the most part we have been sailing most of the way. We have heard many stories about this passage being very treacherous, and beware…oooh. Well it was just the opposite, thankfully. We are jamming out to the Dave Matthews band and fishing, having a good time~ Nice Mona.
7:50pm. We are passing a huge island Desecheo, big mountian. This mean we are close to Boqueron! Captain is on full navigation alert. We have reefs to dodge and ships to avoid, like owls we fly. We anchor at 1:30am. We do a little happy dance, we are in Puerto Rico, que rico!
