Its early, stars are still out and we are leaving the US. Set sail to the Bahamas!
Woke up ready to go. Its seems like we just fell asleep. Looks like night still, stars are out and they are beautiful! Its about 3 am. A little cold out. We put on the layers and get ready to make our Gulf Stream crossing! Harness are on including Beau’s, he is strapped in. But first we have to maneuver our boat through Angel Fish Creek ( Shallow going in, and in some parts in between, and the exit). Im holding onto the mast pointing the flash light, on- off to not disturb our night vision too much. So its a couple of quick on offs then I hold on longer as we approach a marker. We are so quiet moving through the creek, you can hear the current. Seeing shooting stars, its always a good sign. As we are almost out of the creek, exiting (approaching ocean-side). This the tricky part ( Its the shallowest point for us, and now lies a object in the middle of the makers to avoid, yes right smack in the middle ). We practiced making our way through this cut when we left for the Keys for our shakedown, now it all about remembering the markers and sticking to starboard on a particular marker. We get through no problem, ah relief ~ We cheer! Now its serious time. The sun is rising and big waves are revealing themselves…..here we go!
