Back in Miami, Dinner Key Marina – Mooring

Good boy BeauWe arrive in Dinner Key and grab a mooring ball… first attempt and the only way I can explain grabbing one, is like putting a thread through a needle, a much larger scale. Attached to the “needle” is a big ball and once you get the line through the loop you have to be fast on securing the end. Luckily it was a success. All smiles. Whew. No more slip at the marina, we must save all we can for things on our list. The rest of our provisioning will be by dinghy as Beau is showing very proudly :)

After a great trip to Key West, we are back and refreshed. And more focused than ever. We take out the lists and plan our master plan. With more experience and a new eye on what things we will need for the long haul its shopping time! And more things we need to get rid of…. like the jeep and trailer :(  We get as much shopping in for all the big stuff like the life raft, groceries, and fluid retainers. Then we put the jeep up for sale! :( I think that was the only thing that was really sentimental to let go. It got us here from Colorado safely.  Help us tremendously. We loved that jeep, great memories. We get lots and lots of offers, and finally sell it to a guy that is a jeep dealer. All he does is go around Florida buying jeeps. He takes the trailer also, (along with some misc tools that we didnt know what to do with). And its gone! Our last attachment to land, is gone. Whoa. This is wild. Everything is happening so fast. We are almost geared up. We must be ready for when we get that weather window….
